About the Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic, goal-oriented, and driven Business and Scientific Marketing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies while leveraging your scientific knowledge to create compelling scientific content. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business or marketing, coupled with a scientific education in molecular biology or biotechnology. This position offers a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between scientific expertise and effective marketing strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Marketing and Sales Strategy Development:
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop comprehensive marketing and sales strategies that align with organizational goals.
    • Conduct market research to identify target markets, customer needs, and emerging trends.
    • Analyze competitors and the industry landscape to identify opportunities and recommend strategies to gain a competitive edge.
  2. Scientific Content Creation:
    • Utilize your scientific expertise to develop high-quality scientific content, including application notes, posters, scientific publication summary blogs, whitepapers, social media captions and other relevant materials.
    • Translate complex scientific concepts into clear, concise, and engaging content suitable for diverse audiences.
    • Ensure accuracy and scientific integrity of all content by conducting thorough research and collaborating with subject matter experts.
  3. Content Distribution and Promotion:
    • Develop and implement content distribution plans to maximize reach and engagement across various channels, including websites, social media platforms, newsletters, and industry publications.
    • Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to create effective promotional campaigns around scientific content, ensuring it supports lead generation and conversion efforts.
  4. Collaboration and Relationship Management:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, product development, and scientific research, to gather insights and align marketing strategies with business objectives.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), industry experts, and scientific communities to enhance brand visibility and credibility.
  5. Performance Tracking and Reporting:
    • Monitor and analyze marketing metrics, such as website traffic, content engagement, and lead generation, to measure the effectiveness of marketing strategies and identify areas for improvement.
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate the impact of marketing efforts and provide actionable recommendations.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Scientific education with a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or relevant coursework is an asset.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing marketing and sales strategies, preferably in a scientific or technical industry.
  • Strong scientific writing skills and the ability to communicate complex scientific information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with scientific research methodologies, data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Proficiency in using various marketing tools and platforms, including content management systems, email marketing software, social media management tools, and analytics platforms.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Experience with Marketing Email Campaign Software, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, and digital ad platforms such as Google, LinkedIn, Meta, and Twitter is a plus.
  • Prior experience in the biotechnology or life sciences industry is a plus.
