Norgen's Hantavirus Multiplex TaqMan RT-PCR Detection Kit is designed for the detection of RNA from six clinically significant Hantavirus species using multiplex real-time RT-PCR based on TaqMan technology. The assay detects Seoul virus (SEOV), Hantaan virus (HTNV), and Dobrava-Belgrade virus (DOBV) as one target group in the FAM channel, and Andes virus (ANDV), Sin Nombre virus (SNV), and Puumala virus (PUUV) as a second target group in the Cy5 channel. An internal control detected in the HEX channel is included to monitor sample quality and potential PCR inhibition. The multiplex design enables simultaneous detection of the Hantavirus target groups and the internal control within a single reaction. Components of the kit include a 2X RT-PCR Master Mix containing the internal control primer/probe set, a Hantavirus Primer and Probe Mix, Hantavirus positive controls, and a negative control (nuclease-free water) to ensure assay performance and reagent integrity

Storage Conditions and Product Stability
All kit components should be stored at -20°C upon arrival.
Repeated freeze-thaw cycles (>2) of the Master Mix and Positive Control should be avoided, as this may affect assay performance. For intermittent use, reagents should be aliquoted prior to freezing.
All kit components are stable for up to 1 years from the date of manufacture when stored under recommended conditions.
