Proteinase K Solution (20 mg/mL)

Norgen’s Proteinase K Solution is provided in a specially prepared storage buffer that is stable and ready-to-use.  Proteinase K is a very active and highly stable endopeptidase. The enzyme belongs to serine proteases and cleaves peptide bonds following aliphatic, aromatic or hydrophobic amino acids. The enzyme is active in the presence of 1% SDS, 1% Triton X-100, 4M Urea, 3M Guanidine HCl or 5% Tween-20.

Available Sizes: 

  • 5 x 1 mL at a concentration of 20 mg/mL

Working concentration, pH and temperature:

  • 0.05-1 mg/mL, pH of 4.0-12.5 (optimum at pH 8), temperature range of 37-60°C (optimum at 55°C).

Storage Conditions:

Norgen’s Proteinase K Solution should be stored at 4°C. This reagent should remain stable for at least 1 year when stored at 4°C.
