Urine Nucleic Acid Collection and Preservation System
|
Urine Collection and Stabilization Tubes
|
|---|---|---|
Collection Format |
Integrated System - 60 mL Collection cup with built-in transfer device, and 2 x 10 mL tubes with preservative. |
Variable - Available in 5, 15, 50 mL tubes for lab use, and 120 mL cup for donor collection. |
Donor Safety & Contact |
Zero Contact - closed system created barrier between donor & preservative. |
Potential Contact - Preservative is accessible during the collection process. |
Preservation Mechanism |
Lytic - Inactivates microbes and fully lyses host cells. |
Non-Lytic - Preserves cell-free analytes while neither lysing nor preserving intact cells. |
Target Analytes |
Total RNA and DNA from pathogen and host. |
DNA, RNA, Proteins, and Extracelullar Vesicles (EVs). |
Sample Stability |
Long-Term - Preserves RNA and DNA at room temperature for up to 2 years. |
Long-Term and Specialized - Preserves cell-free components at room temperature for 2 years. Intact cells must be removed (to obtain cell-free urine) before or shortly after preservation |
Key Applications |
Infectious Disease Diagnostics (e.g. STI, UTI detection), and Nucleic Acid Biomarker Discovery. |
Cell-Free Liquid Biopsy Applications, including cfDNA/cfRNA analysis, Proteomics, and Exosome-based research. |
Filter:
Lytic
Lytic preservative for DNA and RNA preservation.
Non-Lytic
Non-lytic preservative for stabilizing DNA, RNA, protein and EVs.

Long Term Stability at Room Temperature
Norgen’s Urine Collection and Stabilization Devices provide a rapid and simple method for the collection, stabilization and shipping of urine samples. The Urine Stabilizer reduces the need to immediately process or freeze samples and allows the samples to be shipped to centralized testing facilities at ambient temperatures.
