Storage Conditions and Product Stability
All kit components of the PCR Detection Solutions for Coronavirus (Cat. TM67101, PC67102, 28113) should be stored at -20°C upon arrival. Also repeated thawing and freezing (> 2 x) should be avoided, as this may affect the performance of the assay. If the reagents are to be used only intermittently, they should be frozen in aliquots. All reagents can be stored for 1 year at -20°C without showing any reduction in performance.

PCR Detection Solutions for Coronavirus
Accurate diagnosis of infection with 2019-nCoV is through the use of real-time RT PCR (rRT-PCR) assays for the in vitro qualitative detection of 2019-Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in respiratory specimens and sera. The CDC designed and released RT-PCR assays and published a protocol for the detection of the 2019-nCoV (now being referred to as COVID-19). Norgen Biotek is offering these CDC assays to researchers for the identification of the virus in our 2019-nCoV Primer & Probe Mixes (Cat. TM67101).
Norgen’s 2019-nCoV Primer & Probe Mixes (Cat. TM67101) includes all 3 CDC developed assays in individual tubes, which are premixed to the working concentrations recommended by the CDC. These assays are manufactured under Norgen’s ISO 13485:2016 quality system and are for research use only.
In addition to 2019-nCoV Primer & Probe Mixes, Norgen is also offering a 2019-nCoV RT-PCR Positive Control (Cat. PC67102). The control plasmid contains the CDC 2019-nCoV markers (N1,N2) and RNase P gene which are compatible with the CDC 2019-nCoV specific primer/probe sets. Norgen also offers our 2X One-Step RT-PCR Master Mix (Cat. 28113) as part of the complete detection system.
Please refer to the CDC website for the most up-to-date protocol for use of the 2019-nCoV Primer & Probe Mixes and 2019-nCoV RT-PCR Positive Control ( https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/lab/rt-pcr-detection-instructions.html ).
Please note, Norgen Biotek is not an endorsed supplier of the CDC coronavirus RT-PCR panel or positive controls. Norgen is offering these products based on the sequences that were published by the CDC, and these are being offered to our customers for research use only, not for in vitro diagnostic use
